We’re happy to celebrate our friend Karin Rosenthal’s win in the WorldWide Photography Gala Awards benefiting Save The Children.


FIRST PRIZE: Karin Rosenthal, United States, “Vortex”

Karin’s image, Vortex was given the First Prize in the Nudes Category for the 2010 Julia Margaret Cameron Awards. Funny Feet, the photo that recently won an international grand prize, received an Honorable Mention in the same category.

The judges included San Diego Art Museum Curator Carol McCusker, photographers Mary Ellen Mark and Kim Weston and 4 others, who selected the prizewinners from 4056 images representing 45 countries.

The overall winners will be featured in ZOOM Magazine. All awardees, including finalists will be published in the Book “The Julia Cameron Award 2010”. The exhibition of the overall winners and categories’ winners will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in August 2011.

Karin Rosenthal is Resident Scholar, Women’s Studies Research Center at Brandeis University.
